The Empire as everybody knows was founded by the Supreme Chancellor Palpatine but how did Darth Oblivion take control of this esteemed Empire? The current time era is 11 ABY so what occured on the Jedi homeworld of Tython 18 years ago?

The Galactic Empire has taken control of the galaxy quite nicely thought Oblivion. He was a part of a different Sith Order from Dromuund Kaas and he knew the look of a Sith group whenever he saw one. His order was founded a long long time ago before Palpatine was even born but they needed more than a few Sith Lords and Warriors to take control. He needed a miracle.

The Rebellion was taking route from Corellia to Alderaan to Mon Calamari the major leaders were forming together a covenant, an Alliance to Restore the Republic they called it. Mon Mothma and Obiwan Kenobi were leaders of this new order and their goal was to break down the tyrannical rule of the Emperor.

However they were not strong but the main leaders of the this group were already together in one place on multiple occasions. The Empire didn't take them seriously yet but just the other day they got Kyle Katarn and Wedge Antilles to help them organize their forces effectively.

Princess Leia had loose lips unfortunately and word will travel down the line to Oblivion that there was going to be a meeting on Tython the Jedi Homeworld due to the symbolism of what was lost. Tython is a world unused by several people and was only founded rather recently (again) by Darth Bane 300 years before then. Nobody mined it, nobody settled it. A few of the representatives were going to be traveling with a galaxy renowed smuggler Han Solo to ensure the lack of their capture.

"My Lord" a Sith Warrior bowed deeply to Darth Oblivion.

"Rise what news do you have for me?"

"The Rebellion's leaders including Jedi Master Yoda and Obiwan Kenobi will be in attenedance at a meeting at Tython."

"Does Palpatine know?"

"No sir he does not"

An opportunity Darth Oblivion thought... If he got the Emperor and several Grand Moffs in the same place and perhaps used a weapon back from the Mandalorian Wars combined with a thought bomb it would remove all the major oppositions in a single decisive blow...

Darth Oblivion asked; "What kind of military strength does the Rebellion have mustered for this event?"

"All forces from planets they control which included Corellian Security Force, Mon Calamari Shipyards capitol ships, which I hear are supposed to rival even the new Imperial Star Destroyers. Thats only speculation of course. Then of course a bunch of fighter craft and anti fighter craft from Alderaan's limited Navy."

"So enough to alarm the Empire and challenge a small task fleet"

"Yes I guess so...

"Excellent" Oblivion said cutting him off "I want our Imperial Advisor to convince Palpatine to confront the Rebellion himself with his puppet Vader over Tython the same day as the meeting. If all goes well we can make our move and take over the Empire without hardly any opposition."

"Yes my lord, anything else"

"No I will begin preperations because we need to ensure that barely any if anybody returns from this meeting."

The Sith Warrior bowed and headed to the communications building. Hopefully the order will succeed in most of its objectives in a few months.

Darth Oblivion inspected his 'Empire' nothing short of one planet with a small effective Navy using latest warships. It could take on pirates, perhaps do some raids but if it was to stand toe to toe in any actual engagement it would be annihlated within an hour.

However it was enough for what he had in mind as long as he jumped in unnoticed his forces can succeed in changing the course of Galactic History.

A Sith Warrior walked in and bowed.

"Rise my vassal"

The Sith Warrior stood and spoke "Sir the Empire is now aware of the meeting and our agent was able to convince the Emperor that it would be in his best interest to appear himself aboard their new super weapon to deal with this new threat."

Oblivion knew the agent responsible she was a gifted Sith Lady in the order and it was a surprise that this all powerful Emperor didn't recognize her. Perhaps from arrogance or perhaps from her skill at being concealed. However he did not know about this new super weapon...

Palpatine talked to Lord Vader and agreed that this will be a great opportunity to test out the New Death Star. It was still a prototype but what better chance to use it on this rebellion and perhaps rename it the Justice Star!

One of their intelligence officers reported in on this meeting a few weeks ago and it was agreed that after a few hours after the meeting occurs they will show up in force and wipe out this Rebellion before it grows into something too bold.

His Imperial Advisor mentioned that Yoda and Obiwan were both going to be there and that made it a priority that he be in orbit to watch the demise of the Old Jedi Master.

Bail Organa was preparing a few squadrons to fly to Tython and was going to pick up Yoda for this meeting for it would be vital that he be there to bless this new order with the force.

..." So what you are telling me is they have a space station capable of blowing up an entire planet."

The Sith Warrior nodded "Yes my lord, we also have a set of blueprints of it as well. Its a wonder of what we can procur when they don't realize we exist. Apparently if we were to hack into the Death Star it would cause it to self-destruct taking out an entire fleet and planet to boot"

"Alright lets call up some of our mercenary contacts I am sure IG-88 is the perfect person for the job. All we have to do is get him to the reactor correct?

"That is correct my lord"

Fews days before the battle

The Entire Sith Fleet more of a task force in the Galactic Super Powers' eyes they contained a flagship, a massive dreadnought known as the Pride of the Dark Side. The fleet was lead by the Supreme Cdr. Ruins and had several fighter wings that rival even the 181st Tie Defender Wing under Fel.

Their bombing arm was also superb but what they lacked was numbers and despite what people think you can't win a straight up fight unless you have the numbers to back you up.

Ruins Fleet was prepping for a hit and run on major targets on both sides. For the Empire it was the Executor which was surprisingly longer than the The Pride of the Dark Side. So it would be an interesting engagement to say the least.

Cadaverus would lead the strike team with IG-88 and storm the Death Star. He would later betray IG-88 and leave him behind to tie lose ends. This plan will go superbly if executed correctly.

The Shadow Hand of the Empire organized his spies to spread word hours before the engagement that there is a 3IC of the Empire and his name is Darth Oblivion.

The Battle Begins

It was an ordinary meeting with a lot of defenses in orbit of Tython. The Rebellion thought themselves safe from the Empire but on the off chance they were discovered they had a fleet that should be able to hold them for a few hours so the leadership could escape. Failing that it should be one for the history books.

They were in an old Jedi Temple when alarms starting blaring the Empire had arrived.

Palpatine and Vader arrived in the Executor and the Death Star a perfect duo meant to destroy their enemies. Their fighter squadrons poured out of their ships and the Imperial Interdictor Ships began to employ their gravity well generators sealing off any escape.

Their capitol ships began the engagement surprised by the the firepower the Mon Calamari Cruisers were carrying.

The Battle for Tython was unexpected for both sides. On one side the Galactic Empire was not expecting such fierce tenacity against their regime. They expected a quick and easy defeat where they would surrender within the first set of casualties and their punishment would be to watch Tython blow up. They were instead greeted with the best of all the arrayed forces against the Empire.

The Rebellion did not expect any battle to take place and thought the whole gathering of their forces was a gesture of goodwill and was not all together required. Instead their forces arrayed together might be able to fend off against the Imperial forces long enough for the leadership to scatter among the galaxy. Despite the fact it would take decades to rebuild such a resistance it would rebuild...

Darth Oblivion heard the plans perfectly and smiled inwardly as he felt the strings of victory begin to twang. The final preparations were underway. Communications were to be severed from the Tython System to the rest of the galaxy an easy enough task for a wayward planet at best. Then leaks of sources of a confirmed 3IC of the Empire Darth Oblivion would be sent to all major Galactic News Networks. The backstory can be filled in later but the fact remains was that there is indeed a third in command.

Darth Oblivion walked to the Deck of the Pride of the Darkside. He strode down the bridge and spoke to his apprentice the Shadow Hand of the Empire... Lord Ignition. Lord Ignition will be of the fighter escort and fighter marshall in the upcoming battle.

With the arrayed forces of a few capitol ships and cruisers and perhaps 10 full decked out fighter squadrons of 50 fighters they began to jump into hyperspace and soon they will become another variable in the War for Tython.

There was a deathly silence when the Imperial Fleet came into view. A deep breath before the plunge what would happen? Who would fire the first shot of what would become later known as the Coup d'etat of Tython. The stage was set in perpetual silence that hung through space like a heavy shroud threatening to engulf. When one hasty Captain of the Alliance to the Restore the Republic fired off a salvo of corvette grade lasers into the Imperial Juggernaut. Known as the shot that will change the galaxy...

The Rebels began to move into formation under heavy barrage from their Imperial adversary. Their goal was not to survive but to allow the escape of their esteemed leadership. They realized that there will be no survivors in this conflict and did not bother prepping the escape pods for a last minute launch. They took significant losses in the early battle but once the alert they began to throw back a few punches into the Imperial Fleet.

Echo squadron began to bomb the Imperial Star Destroyers they were not going to die without a valiant fight.

The Imperial Fleet under Vader was beginning to exact its revenge on this pesky rebellion. He was on board the Executor a flagship to his own design that will show its first barrage upon the faces of helpless rebels.

The Emperor Palpatine was on board his giant space station surrounded by a legion of Royal Guard in the off chance a stray Jedi might gain entrance to his elusive battle station. His eyes were focused on the battle at hand but the Dark Side clouded his vision to what was amiss in the force that any Jedi there could understand but couldn't do anything about.

The 181st Tie Defender Wing began its engagement against the Rogue Squadron and it was a sight to see when several prominent fighter Heroes were eliminated quite quickly by its OpFor. The Avengers and the Broadaxe began to take out the larger vessels as the Imperial Star Destroyers began to fire its broadside against the weakened shields.

The radar officers on all vessels began to blink sporadically. Somebody was about to jump into system...

The Sith Empire began to jump into System right in the fringe of the battlefield. Both sides were curious but were too busy fighting their adversary to deal with them directly. Only the Empire had the resources to send additional forces to engage this possible adversary.

Onboard the Pride of the Darkside began to send out its 2 taskforces along with its main strike craft. One taskforce is to board the Death Star is under the command of Darth Cadaverus and they will go along with IG-88 who knows how to blow up the Death Star, how? They didn't ask. The bomber squadrons of the Devastator Taskforce would be under Darth Ruins and they will ensure that the Interdictor along with other primary capitol ships and transports are eliminated. Then the fighters would be under direct command of Shadow Hand of the Empire Darth Ignition.

To assist with the command of the overall movement will be Darth Oblivion and his latest apprentice. Their goal would be to wreck enough havoc upon the Imperial and Rebellion forces no one is to leave the system alive but Sith.

The Galactic Empire saw the inbound group of ships and did not know the origin and assumed they were Rebel support but from where they did not know. When the Empire sent over a few ships to investigate they were devastated by the Sith fleet. It did not help that they only sent over a few Tartan Patrol Cruisers hardly a match for the dreadnought that was the Pride of the Darkside.

The Imperial Officers aboard the Executor did not understand when the Sith fighter squadrons began to engage Rebel forces. The Fighter command under Darth Ignition sporadically began to engage all Rebel strike craft leaving behind the bombers to destroy the Imperial Fleet. Their lasers lit up with the colour blue which was fastly different from the Imperial Green and the Rebel Red that was dancing across the night sky...

Ignition began to be followed by a small contingent of fighters from the 181st and pulled off a daring maneuver of using the debris of engaging fleets to lose them. Infact he flew straight through a derelict Star Destroyer before he finally lost them. He reassigned his squadrons to eliminate the 181st and the Rogue Squadron before things got out of hand.

The bombing forces under Darth Ruins began a maelstrom of torrential ordinance upon the support ships the Empire had in the back of their formation which was least likely to be targeted by Echo strike craft and far away from the main force Imperial Fleet and the Imperial Fleet maintaining perimeter around the Death Star. They began to target the Acclamator Assault Cruisers and Venators because that is where the Broadaxe and other Imperial Strikecraft would re-arm and repair after each engagement.

They began their descent upon the former Open-Circle Fleet ship. The ships Captain barely registering the enemy ships approaching their location when the bridge became engulfed by the torpedoes that snaked toward the ship. The hangers, bridge and engines were down which was crippled enough for their intentions. They shifted their focus on the next ship an Acclamator and it was an easier target then the previous. They eliminated 7 ships in this manner until the next one they lost a bomber due to the point defense systems onboard the ship of question. Resolved by the loss of a fellow pilot they were especially merciless toward this vessel in question. No survivors.

They continued until they saw what occurred the majority of the Imperial Fleet in escort of the Death Star...

The main attacking fleet under the command of Darth Vader was pushing back the rebels easily. However they were taking significant losses from this new enemy that seemed to be a third party. No matter with all the forces way back defending the Death Star and his master there was no way this measly fleet was going to make a difference.

The main technician reported a large energy influxation coming from the Death Star. Believing it was time to fire the laser the bridge crew took a step back to admire the handiwork of the engineers who built this super weapon. Instead of a laser firing they witnessed a giant explosion blossom originating from the Death Star. This explosion engulfed the entire Imperial Fleet in escort of the Death Star leaving his Imperial Fleet, the Support Fleet which was being decimated against a decent sized Rebel force with no reason to back down and this mysterious foe who seemed relentless in their efforts.

Vader was torn between happiness that he did not have to confront his master for the title of Emperor and Dark Lord of the Sith and anger that half the fleet was destroyed in one merciless stroke.

So he choked the radar officer for failing to spot this and stormed off the deck. All the Imperial lieutenants too afraid to step away or toward him...

An hour earlier

The Sith on-board one of the dreadnoughts gathered in a ghoulish circle to combine their strength to create a form of battle meditation. However this battle meditation does not inspire confidence in allies instead it strikes fear in the hearts and the souls of enemies. The morale of the Rebellion and the Galactic Empire will drop drastically as they feel their fight is hopeless and lost. The Sith fighter squadrons and bombers will feast upon this new fear and grow stronger and more powerful thus creating a power circle that only benefits the Sith.

Sith fighter squadrons lanced through space with lasers leaving trails of light to detonate on the target. The main Sith fleet has engaged the main enemy brawl and is just wrecking havoc as the Rebels and Empire both don't know how to approach this brand new foe. Sith bombers ripped right through the Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger and the Rebels many Corellian Cruisers like the Tantive IV. Explosions ripped through the space and caused more devastation on both sides. A task force of bombers had a special objective in mind to ensure the delay of the rise of the light that arrives with a power shift in the dark side.

This bomber taskforce is code named Nexu. Nexu forces are to hit the Rebellions leadership located on Tython or in some of the Gallofee's Troop Transports. The surface of Tython is filled with jungles and with cannibals but it is left untouched in most spheres of influence. In the old Jedi Temple there were several Jedi left over from Order 66 and the leadership of the Rebellion. They heard of the attack and began preparing for an escape out of system which they knew was far from likely but had to be attempted. The first group of the Gallofees left the base when out of the blue without prior warning from radar and etc they were hit and were destroyed. They headed back into the bunkers and called for fighter reprieve from the Nexu bombers. However on the second pass they laid waste to the temple's hanger and only exit; destroying their ships and their only chance of escape short of total victory in the battle above. Nexu's mission has only just begun against this puny Rebellion's efforts.

Onboard the Sith Venator Hobb's Coffin a different outfit was prepared to go on a near suicide mission that will make certain of victory. They were a misfit group of mercenaries and Imperial Troopers and their main goal was to sabotage the Death Star. This group was to be lead by Darth Cadaverious and they were hardened to the bone. The most notable member was IG-88 who had the means to hack into the Death Star and cause it to self-destruct. They boarded a stolen Imperial Lambda Shuttle and took off with fighter cover of the Acklay Fighter group.

The Acklay fighter group was composed of stolen Tie Defender (II) tech. They took off with ease and began to escort the lambda shuttle to the Death Star. All around them the ship rocked from several explosions and somehow the ruse was enough combined with the chaos to get the ship to land onboard the Death Star. The Acklay group departed and began to rain havoc upon all the Imperial Fighter pilots who did not realize that they stole their fighters. In one circumstance the point laser defenses accidently shot the wrong fighter mistaking it for one of the Acklay fighters.

Onboard the Death Star they exited the ship and did not alert the enemies until the first security checkpoint which they killed with relative ease. Sgt. Helfar began to plant charges at the security door when IG-88 just hacked the door open. Darth Cadaverious choked another group while the Sith Troopers shot down a group of security personnel. Soon the Emperor began to try to hunt them down...

Darth Cadaverious knew he was strong but did not know how he stood up to this other Emperor... So he decided to avoid his precense and allow the Self-destruct to handle it for him. After several engagements when a few of the mercenaries and troopers died along the way they finally made it to the main control room. Sgt Helfar planted his explosives and they breached the room. There was a 2 lines of actual Storm Troopers and Royal Guard standing there and Darth Cadaverious summoned a force lightning storm upon them however Sgt. Helfar was killed and IG 88 was slightly wounded. He leaped and slashed the head of another while his team began to recover and kill the rest. There were only a few Sith Troopers including Cpt. Thel, LCpl. Vance, Spc. Anya and Lt. Yorn, Darth Cadaverious and IG-88 who was wounded. Cadaverious pointed to the control panel while his remaining soldiers took up position. IG-88 worked for a few minutes when he announced he set a timer for 5 minutes until detonation. Cadaverious looked up and said "Well since you are wounded and the mercs are dead it makes this part of the job easy."

IG-88 was taken aback before he barraged with fire.

Cpt. Thel then said, "Dead men tell no tales" and then he smiled.

Darth Cadaverious and his troopers ran out and ran right into Palpatine. They stared at each other for a long while before they engaged in combat. Both were very powerful but Cadaverious did not have time for this engagement and told his men distract Palpatine as long as possible.

Without waiting for a response he leaped and starting sprinting to his shuttle and launched it from the hanger mere moments before the Death Star exploded and engulfed a majority of the Imperial Fleet with it.

Darth Oblivion felt the death of the powerful Emperor before he heard or saw the explosion that ripped a great hole in the Imperial Forces several klicks away. He smiled and like most of the Sith he assumed fed on the vacuum in the force that it generated. His Shadow Hand of the Empire Ignition was still busy engaging the Rebellion's fighter craft and the 181st Tie Defender Wing. The primary objective was to ensure no Imperial Forces survive and if possible eliminate all the Rebels too. He shifted his gaze over to one of his strike teams that was to eliminate Vader. Ignition would be leading the assault after he breaches through the exterior defenses now.

Vader was angry over the loss of his Master... he was supposed to be the person to earn the position of Dark Lord of the Sith not be handed it so easily. It essentially ruined the entire theory of the Rule of Two created by Darth Bane over 300 years before. Somehow he knew that it had to do with this mysterious hostile force that seemed to appear from the legends of old. Rebels were not that smart even their leadership element.

He called for a lockdown of the entire ship he had to be the next target of this mysterious force since they found a way to infiltrate and destroy the Death Star there is no way they don't know how to get inside this vessel that has been explored by the public at least once before. The Imperial Marines aboard the ship began to go about the procedures of the lockdown while the Imperial Officers on the bridge kept control among the Imperial Fleet that was beginning to lose morale at the loss of the Death Star. People were one ship actually tried to retreat... fortunately all fleets seemed to have a Gravity Well Generator to stop all fleets from leaving and coming. Vader ordered a holo video discussion with the Cpt. and the Executive Officer onboard that particular vessel. He then ordered the XO to kill the Cpt and take control of his ship. Once the order was complied he ordered the ship to the main engagement where it would actually have a reason to escape.

Lord Ignition began his assault on the Executor with a torpedo blast directly on the Starboard hull. This allowed a quick insertion team in a pod to attach itself to the ship and allow a boarding team to begin a lightning assault. The Sith warriors quickly made their way to the hanger and opened up the blastshield doors. Ignition and his fighter squadron did a combat landing quickly after a quick barrage eliminating any Imperial vessels aboard the Executor. He dismounted his fighter and the rest of the Sith did the same.

Among the group was: 2 Sith Lords, Ignition's Apprentice, 3 Sith Ladys, 5 Sith Warriors and 15 Sith Troopers of the 73rd Nova SOG. They quickly demolished a path to the main bridge meeting minimal resistance. Something was really off... when they breached the last door to the command room where Darth Vader was supposed to be present.

Darth Vader stood there with several soldiers bunkered down in strategic positions and quickly opened up a barrage claiming a few lesser Sith and half of the Sith troopers. Darth Vader then jumped out and slashed down 2 of the Sith Lady's and 1 Sith Lord in the first flurry of blows.

Ignition's Apprentice then engaged Darth Vader in a solo combat. It only took mere moments until the Apprentice was killed with a force choke dying a pathetic death for any true Sith.

Ignition began to feel his strength was draining while Vader's was only growing stronger one by one the Sith fell until it was only Ignition and Vader left while the Imperial Officers didn't even look up from their command stations despite the spectacle right in front of them. Ignition finally fell to the blade of Vader and stood smiling falling dead at his feet.

Darth Vader won this battle and now he knew the nature of this unknown foe they were another renegade group of Sith that wanted to wrest control from his grasp. Now that just wouldn't do.

Oblivion was not happy but he knew killing his own men right now would only hinder his goal so he channeled his anger of Vader's actions in the only productive manner.

"I want the Pride of the Darkside to have an escort of our main Ship o' the Lines and engage the Executor head on. That will cripple their entire fleet's command structure and allow us to seize the moment while the Rebellion hinders the movements of the Imperials near Tython."

"Sir is that a wise decision"

"OF COURSE IT IS! I don't need someone undercutting my command right now."

The officer remained silent. Darth Oblivion thought that he was probably right it wasn't wise but he had no other choice right now, if you want a job done right you must do it your self.

The Rebellion was irrelevant at this point. Despite the lethal firepower of their strike craft that was just that. To Darth Oblivion and to Darth Vader they were just merely there not to be a threat but as spectators to the true battle. The battle that will decide the fate of the Empire for decades to come.

Darth Oblivion's fleet gathered it strength and lead a spear head right to the Executor most of the Imperial Fleet that was not destroyed was dealing with the Rebels and to pull out would mean certain destruction by both the Sith bombers and the Rebel strikecraft that were just looking for more blood to take from the Empire.

The Pride of the Dark Side immobolized any Imperial Vessel from its target The Executor. Soon it was only Darth Oblivion's Flag ship and supporting capitol ships and Vader's flag ship left to duke it out. The Imperial Fleet was too far gone to support their leader in his final struggle. Yet, the Sith were still in for one hell of a fight.

The Pride of the Dark Side pulled up along broadside with The Executor and began to engage in an ensuing combat. Firing crews were tested to their very limits to pump out as many shells and bolts at their combatant as possible. Fire rates previously thought to be impossible were surpassed and turbo laser scattered between the two vessels in scary delight. It looked to be an even match when strike craft from both factions began to engage to see who will be able to land ordinance upon their adversary.

Things were looking good for The Pride of the Dark Side when a Broadaxe bomber landed a space bomb and magpulse directly near their shield generator tipping the balance in the hands of Vader. Crippled The Pride of the Dark Side began to fight back with all reserves no longer concerned with returning to Dromuund Kaas but to end the life of The Executor. Darth Oblivion stood on the deck of his ship knowing full well they could not save the ship... not this time but that does not mean The Executor will get to taste true victory.

Darth Oblivion smiled "Victory no matter the cost". He would have to sacrifice his ship if he would want his goal to be achieved and that would mean no retreat. Perhaps he could get to his personal fighter but the ship would be gone.

A few moments after that thought a squadron of Sith bomber successfully landed 4 hits on The Executor's command deck sealing its fate. Darth Oblivion promptly took off from his ship and smiled. The Empire was finally his.

Immediately after the battle the Sith with aid from several gravity well generators effectively prevented any Imperial or Rebel ship from leaving the fray and allowed them to pick each other before sweeping up the mess. The severely crippled the Rebellion forces and would allow the Sith to take control over the Empire.

The Pride of the Dark Side was unfortunately lossed so Darth Oblivion went to Coruscant aboard "The Advent of Shadow". With the loss of the Emperor and his group of advisors and Moffs that were aboard the Death Star and the loss of Darth Vader there was a bit of confusion of the successor the Empire.

With the aid of some high level bribes and hacks it turned out that Palpatine had an non-public successor Darth Oblivion. When that was discovered Oblivion after a little bit of behind the scenes bloodshed took up the mantle of Emperor. He then ordered the construction of a new Super Star Destroyer dubbing it "The Pride of the Darkside".

After some preparations he went before the Imperial Senate to give his inaugural speech.

Members of the Empire! I am Darth Oblivion and come before you not as an Emperor but as a Dark Lord of the Sith. For too long the Jedi have poisoned the minds of everyone that the Republic and the Jedi were the greatest goods on this galaxy. Yet I ask you did that stop the pirates? Did that stop the Separatists? No that was done through show of strength for which the Jedi have long been opposed.

The Jedi have said the Sith were bad but who were the ones who unified this galaxy and maintained its borders through true spoken words not half truths and lies?
