I was wondering, considering the lack of interest for the Mass Effect RP and the diminishing interest of the Post-Apocalyptic RP, what if we went back to a Stars Wars or Halo RP? Any interest there?

Hell we could even piggyback onto the old New Alexandria RP and continue off of that again if you guys want.

Hmm....lets think outside if the box...whatever the ideas, there are very limited Jedi and sith, remember my idea from when the clines are the ultimate power in the universe? I like that...that they eradicated all the Jedi (so they think) But im just throwing that out there.

Alright, how about this?

We start at the fall of Palpatine and his Sith Order and begin with Darth Oblivion's New Order. This would take place immediately after the Battle of Tython where the Death Star and all accompanying Empire Forces and the attacking Rebel Forces were destroyed, leaving both factions in disarray. The New Empire rose and laid claim to the Galaxy, wiping out all resistance in it's way.

The only problems I have with RP's (besides forced posting, but that's a necessity anyway) is that the pacing is almost always bad, and the universe is either not engaging or it's familiar enough to sometimes interfere with individuals creating their stories.

Of course a familiar universe is an easy way to conduct an RP and can enable story ideas as well, but I believe there's a certain novelty to brand new continuities that really can't be replaced.

I do remember Valkyrie rising being the exception to this since it wasn't really a role-play but more like a collaborative story. Even though it was set in a familiar universe, It was in a unique spot where we could pretty much make up anything we wanted, but still draw off of the powerful fiction surrounding Halo.

If your new RP happens to be in such a spot cannon-wise, then it has greater potential in my opinion. (I can't tell as I'm not antiquated with Mass Effect or Star wars very well)

I know that not everyone is willing to put the time, thought, and energy towards creating a vivid world, and that's completely fine, but it makes reading large amounts of these stories a bit of a slog.

I definitely know that not all of the parts of the post-apocalyptic restart were engaging.

I tried to make a story that I would find engaging, but I fell into the same traps by deciding that it might be a good idea to set it in the real world.

Hopefully I have a wrong take on RP's, and this one is more fun to read from an overall view; I wish the best of luck for the next idea.

I'm scrapping Flight as I've realized that I don't want to write it, and I might do something new, but I don't want to just jump in like I did with Flight. I need more pre-production this time if I'm going to make it good enough to keep writing it.
