THE YEAR IS 2181. CHAOS HAS BEFALLEN EARTH. NATIONS HAVE FALLEN, AND GOVERNMENTS HAVE CRUMBLED. A SERIES OF NATURAL DISASTERS HAS CAUSED MUCH UNREST, AND THE MILITARY OF EACH NATION IS SCATTERED AND DISORIENTATED. THOSE THAT WERE WEALTHY OR FORTUNATE ENOUGH HAVE FLED TO SELF-SUFFICIENT SETTLEMENTS ON MARS. ALL THAT REMAINS NOW ARE FACTIONS OF BANDITS AND A SELECT FEW THAT HAVE MANAGED TO SUSTAIN THEMSELVES THROUGHOUT THE CHAOS.
